Not much to report. I've mostly been plugging away at boring life things: work, exercise, chores, meal prep and not much else of memorable quality. This will probably be a short one.
The weather seems to be cooling down for the year, so I recently took an opportunity to spend an afternoon at a local nature reserve. The next time it's reasonably warm outside and I've got a free afternoon, I'd like to go back. Reconnecting with nature always seems to be a good idea for a variety of reasons.
The election came and went, much bloviating occurred. I was in a dissociative state for a while and then decided to move on with life. I have thoughts, for sure, but I'm not looking to share them right now, not yet.
I was featured in Ctrl-ZINE's Issue #17, which was fantastic! I always relish the chance to take part in these projects if for no other reason than having another opportunity to flex my creative muscles. The blog and other hobbies have been dormant for weeks on end, but I can at least say I got something done this month.
I had a nice Thanksgiving, getting together with family and friends under the same roof. We ate some tasty food, played board games and generally had a pleasant time. It's no secret that I'm not a big fan of the holidays, but I don't have much to complain about so far this year.
It's weird to come to the realization that I've now had this site up for a year. Somehow, it seems longer than that. My visitor counter on the main page broke recently due to its provider going offline out of the blue. I've got some other stuff to fix and improve on here as well, maybe this anniversary would be the logical time to think about some renovations around here.
Work is finally starting to wind down, I'm looking forward to having more free time coming up. I've got an eReader and a physical book arriving in the mail hopefully within a week or two, so reading time is sure to follow. I'm also hoping to make time for creative pursuits and crossing some long-standing items off the to-do list.
I don't have any notable conclusions about November 2024 at this time. I've gotten a lot of writing done this year, and it now feels like my mental capacity to string together words is running thin. Hopefully, a period of rest and reflection will be all it takes to get charged up again.
